Community Service Block Grants

Community Service Block Grants (CSBG) are federal funding provided to states and local organizations to support programs and services that address poverty and promote self-sufficiency for low-income individuals and families. When a mental health facility accepts Community Service Block Grants, it can receive funding to support its efforts in serving the low-income individuals and families within its community.

Mental health facilities that receive CSBG funding may use it to support a wide range of services, including mental health counseling, case management, outreach and education, and other services that address the social determinants of health for low-income individuals and families.
